About the role We currently have an opportunity available in the role of Sous Chef. Working with the Head Chef, the Sous Chef will be an integral part of the kitchen team to ensure that we attain our goal of becoming a dining destination of Sydney - we are aiming high and want you to as well. Collectively working together, the 'Chef team' will be able to instil ideas and innovation into the entire kitchen team as we strive to deliver food on a level that consistently surpasses the expectations of all those who dine with us. Key Responsibilities include: Financial Performance. Maintain cost efficiencies and promote new ideas for cost reduction. Menu Development. Play an integral role in menu development while keeping abreast of food trends. Team Management. Assist with building a strong team by maintaining a harmonious and mutually beneficial working relationship with staff, management and customers in a pressured environment. Rostering. Assist with developing and implementation of staff rosters and maintaining staff records as required. Hygiene and food safety. Maintain highest level of food safety and hygiene in accordance with food safety guidelines and North Collective's policies and procedures. Communication. Maintain effective communication with all key stakeholders including senior management, line managers, team members, customers and the Board Work, Safety, Health and Compliance. Actively support a range of activities in accordance with Work, Health & Safety legislation obligations and in line with Norths Collective's Risk Management Program as well as HACCP audit compliance. Ensure compliance wherever necessary including all relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice.
